Meet The Team
Mundeep Lotay – Nursery Manager
Hi my name is Mundeep Lotay. I am the nursery manager at Pre School Academy. My experience in early year’s childcare has been over 15 years, from working my way up from a nursery assistant to managing a full day nursery. I believe that I have a range of good experience from my extensive years of working in early years.
I am passionate about working in an environment where I can see the children play, learn, develop and grow as an individual to meet their fullest potential. I feel that “Planning for tomorrow’s future today” in the child’s early life is important to give them the start they need and provide a wide variety of experiences with good role models.
My purpose for setting up the Pre School Academy day nursery is to provide an environment that inspires and nurtures the children and has a positive impact on the child’s learning. I feel it is important to have a close working relationship with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure information is shared effectively, so we can give the child the best opportunity to develop and shine.
Cheryl McAvilley – Deputy Manager
Hi, my name is Cheryl and I have been working at Pre School Academy since 8th December 2014 when I joined as Room Senior in the Baby Room. I have 15 years of experience in childcare, starting as a parent volunteer in a small village preschool in 2000 when my own children attended. I went on to run that preschool and studied for my NVQ Level 3 after my 3rd child was born in 2001. Since then I have passed my Level 4 in Leadership and Management and in July this year I completed my PGCE and gained Early Years Teacher Status.
I have experience of working with the full Early Years age range; I have a particular interest in working with children with additional needs. I am passionate about working with children and believe that early year’s education is the most important in a child’s life as it builds the foundations on which they become future learners. By encouraging children to be independent, to take calculated risks and build their self-esteem we give them the tools to become confident learners.
I look forward to working with you and your children.
Jessica Runnals – 3rd in charge
I have been working in childcare for 6 years, completing NVQ level 2 and CACHE level 3. At Pre School Academy, I have worked my way up from Nursery Practitioner to Room Senior and finally; Third in charge. I have worked alongside the SENCO officer and also run Attention Hillingdon sessions in which we have gained a championship status for.
I have been able to extend my knowledge and understanding through the training and courses provided and I am currently doing a Child Psychology course which I feel will be beneficial when assessing changes in each child’s ability over time.
I have worked with all age groups and it’s a wonderful experience to watch the children learn new key skills and knowing that I can support them with their development is an honorable reward.
To make certain our team of staff can achieve their fullest potential and abilities, ongoing training and staff building activities will be held regularly. This will ensure your children receive the best quality care and education.
